“Thanks so much for making [my daughter's] camp experience so wonderful! She loved playing Stripes and was so proud that she memorized all her lines. Our experiences with your company just keep getting better!”

“I just wanted to say thanks for all of your efforts in the last show. [My daughter] really enjoyed her time practicing and performing. You guys are great and I will definitely recommend your program to others! Thanks for all your hard work!”

“I want to thank you for the wonderful time [my daughter] had in the Theatre Group, and the fantastic production that it turned out to be. We were so proud of ALL the kids, I was quite blown away by how well they did on the big night. [My daughter] is very shy in her daily life and I can hardly believe it is my own child who smiles, dances and says her lines so well. I think this is so good for her and it is a joy to see how happy she is while doing it.”

“I wanted to write you both and tell how much fun [my daughter] had doing “It’s A Jungle Out There” and what a wonderful job I think you both did… I have told so many people about your program – it was fun, flexible, relaxed, affordable. We really enjoyed it (both of us!) and I just wanted to make sure I let you know how great I thought it was. Thank you.”

“Whenever I had asked my daughter about acting classes, she was always very hesitant which surprised me because of her love for dance performing. She expressed that she was very nervous about having to memorize and deliver speaking lines. I encouraged her to just try the NW Youth Theater to see if she liked it or not. We just finished the first session of ten weeks, and she can’t wait to do it again!”

“I really appreciated your openness in terms of allowing the kids to be themselves while learning the pieces. . . I think the experience with you gave her a lot more confidence and interest in singing and music in general.”

“I want to tell you that it has been a pleasure for me to work with you in the past year. I have learned more from you … than I have from anyone. It means a lot to me to see you work so well with the younger students. For me personally, it has been a lot of fun. I have never been around such enthusiastic people that make acting so much fun.”

“Working with the directors of NYT has always been and continues to be some of the most rewarding experiences of my life. They helped us to create many magical moments and memories. The feeling of ensemble and teamwork that they create and pass on to the students cannot be rivaled.”

“Northwest Youth Theatre provided a fully inclusive theatrical production with my first graders. Every child was successful regardless of ability or experience. Being involved in the production helped the socially reticent children feel more able to interact with peers and more sure themselves generally. All my students enjoyed the process and delighted in performing for schoolmates and families. The highly skilled team of coaches/directors coordinated well with teachers and other staff members. They clearly enjoy children and understand how to work with young students. We are all looking forward to our next production with Northwest Youth Theatre.”

Northwest Youth Theatre is an Oregon Not-for-Profit 501(c)3 Corporation. Its purpose is to provide education and experience in the performing arts to children regardless of their past experience or training. It was founded by Lois Lents in Portland, OR in 1995, and offers youth a variety of performing opportunities, through after school and summer day camp programs for children from preschool through high school. NYT classes are filled without requiring students to audition — we believe that by working on performance skills and team-building activities in the rehearsal process, every group of young people can produce an excellent program. In addition, NYT policy is that no child will be denied access to our programs because of inability to pay. Contact us for information on tuition assistance.
